Following two rounds of consultation Council adopted the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2023 - 2026 on 14 August 2023.

The Disability Inclusion Action Plan focuses on outcomes such as:

  • ensuring all public Council buildings, parks and gardens, open spaces, and facilities have clear access information on the City of Stonnington website to inform dignified access and experiences for community members with disability
  • continuing to build on plans for accessible and inclusive playgrounds, parks, and gardens within Stonnington
  • providing support and educate community, arts and theatre groups, sporting/leisure clubs, and social organisations of the importance of diversity and inclusion.

City of Stonnington DIAP Survey

The Disability Inclusion Action Plan outlines our commitment to supporting people with disability, their families and carers to enjoy wellbeing, dignity and social independence in Stonnington.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will be available until 30 June 2023.

Stonnington Disability and Access Committee

The Stonnington Disability and Access Committee is currently seeking new members. If you are a person with disability living in Stonnington, a carer or a representative from a local disability agency, email your expression of interest to: access@stonnington.vic.gov.au

Committee members help guide policy and service delivery and assist us responding to relevant and emerging issues that affect people with disability living in the community.

The Stonnington Disability and Access Committee plays an important role in advising Council as we create an inclusive community with access for all.
