Intention to sell

We are seeking your feedback regarding the proposed sale of the property at 57-59 Fisher Street, Malvern East.

Council officers undertook a public value assessment of this property that revealed low usage by Stonnington residents, and no other viable alternative future Council service use.

This was presented at a Councillor Workshop in March 2025 where the property was identified for potential divestment.

Council is currently considering the proposal to sell the land at 57-59 Fisher Street, Malvern East. The building on the land may be demolished and subdivided into the original two lots being approximately 655 square metres each, based on the original title boundaries i.e., retaining the single dwelling covenant on each respective title.

Two trees onsite have been identified as having high retention value and are protected under the Stonnington Local Law Tree Protection. A permit will be required for any works undertaken on these trees or near them.

Any net proceeds from the proposed sale will be reinvested into Council’s Future Fund.

Please note feedback must be received by 11.59pm on 23 November 2025.

Following the conclusion of this consultation, a report will be presented to Council for consideration.
