Zone 6
Existing zone overview
Situated between Elm Road and High Street, Zone 6 includes Glenburn Park; a densely vegetated park with informal pathways leading through an area regarded for existing biodiversity and local stewardship.
Proposed concept design
The focus is on opportunities to increase park usage and participation, while enhancing the existing character and ecology. Key elements of the concept design:
- formalising the car park entrance
- upgrading the gravel and access path network
- establish informal trails with discovery nodes and park furniture
- develop creek lookout points and create visual connection to the creek
- new buffer and habitat planting.

Elm road barely caters for pedestrians with no footpath in some parts.People and children walk on the road and often are in danger from cars

Alex says:
I am concerned if more cars are to enter Elm road. The road is so narrow allowing only one car to travel on it at a time.

Be more specific. This entry does not explain you plan for Glenburn Bend. It’s pretty good as it is. Nature. Peace. No crowds

Bridges over the creek are pinch points and are dangerous. Serious accident waiting to happen

Warwick Manderson says:
Glenburn Park paths are for walking. Bicycles are not permitted but use and damage the paths significantly. Effective barriers are needed.

SH says:
Please leave Glenburn relatively wild and undeveloped. It's delightful and does not need more paths, benches, parking, signs or lookouts.

Joanne says:
The park needs to have the bike track through it. Two narrow dangerous bridge crossings . Northern Boroondara section could then be rewild.

Greg says:
Please address High St Underpass it is dark, narrow, has limited forward visibility in both directions and poor camber on the city side.

The creek side sitting zones are nice but how will they handle the flash flooding, creek silting and rubbish left behind?

Derek says:
7B a busy area with a lot of kids (and feeding ducks). high speed cyclists a problem and could be split to dedicated path closer to the oval

Derek says:
The cycle path is dangerous with sharp turns. Lines are slippery in the wet. I have slipped and broken two ribs (low speed) after rain
