Help us plan our future together

Every four years, with community input, we prepare a Council Plan that sets our direction for the next four years and outlines the steps the Council will take towards achieving our Community Vision.

To prepare our next Council Plan, we’re checking in on our Community Vision created in 2021 to ensure it reflects community aspirations for the future.

We are also inviting community members to register to join the Stonnington People’s Panel 2025.

The Panel will meet in early 2025 for a series of workshops to consider community feedback on the Vision and help inform the next Council Plan and related strategic documents.

The panel will be demographically representative of our community and will reflect and represent as best possible the diversity of people, ideas and opinions in our community.

You don’t need any special skills or knowledge to participate. We will provide you all the information you need to take part.

As a People’s Panel member, you will contribute to decisions that affect the wider community of Stonnington, and therefore you should have a close connection to the City of Stonnington. (Note, Council staff and current Councillors cannot be panel members.)

Panel members will receive a $300 payment to thank them for their time.*

The panel will come together on the following dates (venue details will be advised to panel participants):

  • Panel session 1: Saturday, 22 February, 9.30am - 4.00pm - in-person
  • Panel session 2: Tuesday, 4 March, 5.30pm - 8.30pm – in-person
  • Panel session 3: Tuesday, 11 March, 5.30pm – 8.30pm – online
  • Panel session 4: Tuesday, 18 March, 5.30 – 8.30pm – in-person

A light meal and refreshments will be provided at each in-person session.

There will also be up to 3 hours of additional live online webinars which you are welcome to participate in, to prepare you for the panel sessions. These will be recorded so you can also watch at a time that is convenient for you if you’re unable to attend the live sessions.

*Subject to attending 75% of Panel sessions.
