Help us bring a village atmosphere to South Yarra

Help us design a space that will bring a village atmosphere to the heart of South Yarra.

We want to beautify the section of Chapel Street around Fitzgerald Street, Lovers Walk and beyond, and before preparing a draft design would like to know what you think the area should look like.

In 2013, Council adopted a masterplan for the Chapel Street corridor which identified specific locales that could be transformed into people-first zones where the community can gather in a safe, inviting space.

We have a vision of a streetscape where restaurant dining will spill out onto the footpath, where there's lots of greenery and trees, good lighting and modern furnishings to bring the area to life.

Help us to deliver our vision by sharing your ideas for the area - what you think the area should look like, what we can improve.

Your feedback will help us develop a concept design for the area, that when drafted we will share for your feedback.

What is a Village Square?
It is defined as a well connected pedestrian friendly gathering points, with lots of commercial activity, greenery and flexible use spaces.

So we would like to know, what your vision for the area is, what you like and what you would like to see improved.
