In May 2021 we completed our Shaping Stonnington engagement program - where we heard from the many voices of our diverse community about their aspirations for the future of our city.

These conversations helped us develop our first Stonnington Community Vision 2040 which was endorsed by Council on 28 June 2021.

The Community Vision was written by a committed group of 32 local community members who made up the Shaping Stonnington People’s Panel, broadly representing Stonnington’s demographic profile The panel reviewed the feedback from the wider engagement program, and created an inspiring vision to reflect the breadth of aspirations and priorities of everyone in the community.

The Community Vision has been used to shape the priorities of our draft Council Plan 2021–25, which describes how our Council will strive towards the vision during its four-year term. We’ve combined the Community Vision and Council Plan 2021-25 into a single document - Future Stonnington which will help guide our priorities for the future.

We have also developed our long-term Financial Plan for the next 10 years, to guide how the actions in the Council Plan are funded to achieve the Community Vision.
