Thank you to everyone who attended our recent 'Meet Your Council' community meetings. We hope you found the evening informative and were able to connect with your Councillors' and community members.

A total of 71 community members attended across all three meetings held in June and July. Councillors and Council officers were able to discuss matters of concern with residents and traders and feedback was shared with the appropriate teams.

  • Trees

    Residents expressed their desire to see more native trees planted across the municipality.

  • Community safety

    Concerns regarding community safety were raised throughout all three meetings. The level of crime and anti-social behaviour in various locations was also discussed.

  • Traffic

    The matter of traffic congestion in Stonnington was discussed.

  • Toorak Village

    Community members discussed their appreciation of Toorak Village. They also expressed the need for improvements to the footpaths in the area.

  • Parking

    The lack of parking across Stonnington was raised by many residents.

  • The Arts

    Community members expressed their interest in seeing more art installations and exhibitions in the municipality.

  • Street lighting

    Residents would like to see an increase in lighting throughout the municipality in order to improve safety, particularly at night.

  • Community wellbeing

    Attendees expressed their support for increased community programs.

  • Chapel Street

    Concerns about safety along Chapel Street were raised, as well as the issue of vape stores along the street.

  • Recreation

    Residents expressed their desire to see Council invest more into community sports.

  • Council planning

    Residents discussed how larger developments can reduce local amenity & the role of Council when they are not the planning authority.

  • Open spaces

    Many community members would like to see more greenery and improved open spaces to meet up with friends and family.
