Greville Street Celebration

12 February 2018

Come and help celebrate Greville Street’s new and improved streetscape

Prahran’s iconic Greville Street has undergone a significant upgrade and the City of Stonnington is inviting local residents, traders and visitors alike to come and help celebrate.

The City of Stonnington Mayor, Cr Steve Stefanopoulos said the newly constructed public space along Greville Street will further boost its reputation as one of the best shopping precincts in Melbourne.

“The new public space on Greville Street includes a cobblestone shared zone, wide bluestone footpaths, more greenery and more space for the local community and visitors to enjoy,” Mayor Stefanopoulos said.

“Greville Street’s popularity has survived various trends and economic changes and the current upgrade will ensure its popularity for on-street trading and dining grow.

“The City of Stonnington would like to thank traders and residents for their patience during the construction program and we invite you to celebrate and enjoy the new space.”

“Greville Street is a unique destination within Stonnington thanks to its historic and artistic past and we want to make sure it continues to be a great hub for creatives, professionals, artists, small boutique businesses and locals,” Mayor Stefanopoulos said.

The Greville Street celebration will include free local food, refreshments, live music and roving entertainment.
