Following Council’s adoption of Amendment C172, Council officers undertook a policy neutral review of the adopted version of Schedule 1 to the Activity Centre Zone at the request of the Minister for Planning. The aim of the review was to simplify the Schedule to reduce repetition, complexity and length. Whilst the majority of the changes were included in the approved Amendment C172, a number of changes identified as necessary were deemed to require additional consultation with landowners and other stakeholders who may be materially affected by the amendment.

Council Officers have also been monitoring and undertaking an ongoing review of Schedule 1 to the Activity Centre Zone since its adoption in 2015 and final approval in 2017. Any revisions identified through this process have also been included in Amendment C276.

Amendment Process

At its meeting on 9 April 2018, Council resolved to prepare the Amendment documentation and request authorisation from the Minister for Planning to exhibit it to the public.
