After considering community feedback and local conditions in this constrained area, Council is recommending this location proceed.

Feedback for the proposed Car Share bay at this location showed 79% of respondents opposed, with concerns mainly related to parking impacts on Porter Street.

After considering community feedback and local conditions, Council is not recommending the proposed Car Share bay proceed at the originally identified location on Porter Street.

However, feedback also highlighted a preference for Car Share bays to be located closer to main roads and activity areas. A separate, approved upgrade to the Porter Street and High Street intersection will create new parking spaces and will be undertaken in mid-2026. Council will allocate one of these new spaces as a Car Share bay, responding to feedback while still supporting access to Car Share in the area.
