Armadale
Detailed mapping of the Car Share proposals specific to Armadale.
Following consultation in 2024 on proposed car share vehicle bays at locations across the City of Stonnington, see below the outcome of the consultation against the surveyed streets.
The proposal for car share vehicle bays follow an application from car share providers to install car share vehicle bays at various locations across Stonnington. Applications were assessed in line with our Car Share Policy and the community invited to provide feedback before the final decision on car share vehicle bay locations was made.
Car share parking bays will be installed in January 2025 pending contractor availability and weather.
The City of Stonnington supports expanding the local car share network and welcomes applications from eligible car share operators. Operators need to demonstrate demand for car share services in the area, as part of their application.
The City of Stonnington aims for cost-neutrality in managing car share and supports it to provide a service to the community rather than to raise revenue. All car share bays are closely monitored and evaluated from 12 months after installation to ensure they receive sufficient ongoing usage to justify the kerbside space required.

You are invited to have your say on a proposal to turn a car space in your area into a dedicated car share parking bay. The proposed location plans and details are available by suburb below.
The proposal follows an application from a car share operator, in line with the city’s Car Share Policy. We are currently assessing the application and before making a decision would like to understand what people who live near the proposed car share space think.
Please note that some car share spaces would accommodate car share vehicles already operating in the area using unrestricted parking spaces meaning no net change to parking supply, so please confirm before providing your feedback.
If the proposal goes ahead, the car share space will be installed in Nov/Dec 2024. If the proposal goes ahead, parking in this spot will only be permitted for a authorised car share vehicle from the specified operator and will otherwise be signed NO STOPPING.
Car share is a service that provides personal or business access to a fleet of professionally managed cars, parked on- or off-street for members.
Car share is a great alternative to personal car ownership. Vehicles can be rented by the hour or day. A well-developed car share network can reduce parking demand in the local area, reduce car dependency and encourage walking, cycling and public transport use.
Online survey: Please provide your valuable feedback by completing the feedback form below.
To make you views count, let us know what you think of the proposed change by Monday 12 August 2024.
Your feedback will help Council determine whether the proposed car share spaces specific to your location will be implemented.
At the close of consultation all feedback will be considered to inform a final decision. The decision will be published online at https://connectstonnington.vic.gov.au/carshare found in the Consultation Results tab.
