Precinct 6 - Fetherston Street Park design

Closing the eastern end of Fetherston Street creates a new flexible green space for community gathering, play and informal recreation.

  • Existing bluestone walls will be removed and reused elsewhere in the precinct.
  • The design manages stormwater by directing kerb runoff into garden beds within the park, with paving that allows rainwater to soak into the ground rather than run off.
  • The park will include a central lawn, garden beds, shade trees, seating, lighting and a drinking fountain.
  • A distinctive palm will mark the southern station arrival and help with wayfinding.
  • Existing trees will be retained and given more space to support long-term health.
  • Bollards will define the boundary between the park and roadway to improve pedestrian safety.
