This consultation covers three separate but connected improvements to Ardrie Park: the playground, the picnic area, and the public toilet block.

Here's a look at Ardrie Park today

The playground was last upgraded in 2008, and the equipment is now ageing. The BBQ and picnic facilities will also be upgraded, with a new shelter, seating and accessible path. Together these improvements are an opportunity to create a park that the whole community can continue to enjoy for years to come.

We're asking which play items you love and want to keep, what could be better, and what new features you'd like to see. Your feedback will help shape what the new playground looks and feels like. You can share your views on:

  • the types of play equipment included.
  • whether nature play elements are incorporated.
  • colours and finishes for the new equipment.

We are also seeking your feedback on two proposed improvements to the picnic area: a new shelter and a new accessible path connecting the picnic area to the existing path network. Your feedback on the public toilet block near the playground will also help inform any future planning should funding be confirmed.

Some aspects of the project are already confirmed and will not change.

  • the location of the playground.
  • the playground name.
  • fencing.
  • lighting in the reserve.
  • footpaths.
  • the sportsground area, including the pavilion and other sporting infrastructure.
  • facilities including outdoor fitness equipment, bike hoops and the basketball court.
  • dog park infrastructure.
  • replacement of the existing BBQ and picnic table, which are already planned and proceeding.

Feedback from this consultation will be reviewed by the project team and used to develop the design brief for the playground renewal.

Feedback on the public toilet block will inform any future planning should funding be confirmed.

A summary of what we heard will be published on this page once the consultation has closed.

What happens next

Once consultation closes, your feedback will be reviewed by the project team and used to inform the concept design for the playground renewal. Once the concept design is finalised, the community will be notified of the outcome and how their feedback shaped the design.

Ardrie Park has progressed to the public voting phase of the Victorian Government's Pick My Park program. The parks that receive the most votes receive funding. Voting helps determine which parks receive funding, and your vote could help secure the improvements we are able to deliver at Ardrie Park, including the playground renewal and public toilet upgrade.

There are two separate applications for Ardrie Park. You can vote for one or both:

Voting is open until 3 August 2026.
