About the proposal

Council will be seeking feedback from late August on proposed parking restriction changes across Stonnington's major activity centres. The proposed changes are designed to improve customer access to shops and dining by increasing the availability of free, short-term, on-street parking across the municipality. The proposals include:

• extending some existing time restrictions to operate until 9pm on weekdays
• extending existing time restrictions to also apply on weekends
• introducing time limits in areas where parking is currently unrestricted

On-street parking across Stonnington, including Chapel Street, remains free.

How to have your say

Consultation for the Chapel Street and Toorak Road, South Yarra precincts opens on 24 August, followed by consultation opening for precincts across the rest of the municipality in early September.
