In May this year Stonnington was awarded funding under the Victorian Government’s Local Parks (dog parks) Program, to develop a dedicated dog park at Thomas Oval in South Yarra. Council has also committed funding to the project, from the Creating Open Space reserve.

In 2020, we asked the community for ideas on what they would like to see in a dedicated dog park and these ideas have informed the Draft Concept Plan for Thomas Oval Dog Park.

In 2021 we invited the community to have their say on the Draft Concept Plan. We released the final concept plan in June 2021 and following Council endorsement we are excited to begin construction in mid-2022.
