Community instrumental in new playground design
The much-anticipated Sir Zelman Cowen accessible playground design has landed, with the community providing valuable input to inform the final design.
In mid-2021 we asked the community to tell us what they wanted to see in a new accessible playground at Sir Zelman Cowen Reserve. What we heard helped us shape a draft design that we shared in late-2021 with the questions - Did we get it right? Have we missed anything?
Feedback from these consultations has helped us design a fantastic new playground with inclusive play equipment, sand and water play, interactive sculptures, an accessible barbecue, drinking fountain, shelter and toilet facility, and lots of trees and garden beds.
It’s been a while, but we’re pleased to announce the playground design has now been finalised.
We’ll start building the new playground within the next few months and look forward to seeing it open by the end of the year.
This brings to a close the consultation stages of the new playground delivery and we thank everyone who provided feedback and helped produce a design that is sure to bring a smile!
