The City of Stonnington has many thriving activity centres that continue to provide affordable, small to medium-sized employment and housing spaces within close proximity to the communities they serve. Ensuring these centres continue to meet the needs of our community both from a commercial and residential perspective is our ultimate goal.
Our planning scheme addresses topics such as:
- Ensuring suitable catchments around centres to support local business
- Encouraging mixed use to grow local jobs
- Aesthetics and well-maintained public realm and landscaping
- Enhancing access, both walking and cycling
We continue to progress the Neighbourhood Activity Centre Framework (NACF). This will provide a framework for local activity centres that will access and create potential to accommodate growth, look at how these centres support surrounding residential areas and seek to create successful and thriving local centres.
A draft NACF will be available for community consultation in 2023.
