The Stonnington General Local Law provides for the governance of our municipality.
Every ten years, Council is required to review our Local Law to make sure it reflects the changes that have taken place in our City and ensure the Local Law keeps pace with our community’s changing expectations.
In September 2017, Council consulted with the residents, community groups, industry and other key stakeholders to discuss potential Local Law changes and get their feedback.
The proposed updates and changes in this draft reflect the feedback from earlier consultation.
It is important that we hear what the community thinks about the draft Local Law Review to ensure Stonnington remains a great place to live, work and visit.
Drop-in consultation sessions focusing on the proposed significant changes to the Local Law were held to provide the community with an opportunity to meet with Council Officers to discuss key changes and provide feedback.
