Council reserves

We are proposing to include a number of new sub-clauses relating to the use of Council reserves

These changes affect sections 113, 121, 122 and 123.

Current:

New sub-clause.

Proposed:

A person must not, without a Permit, access land via a Council Reserve.

Rationale:

This will provide protection to Council reserve from damage due to private construction works.

Current:

New sub-clause.

Proposed:

A person must not, without a Permit, conduct any repairs, maintenance, construction or demolition works in a Council reserve.

Rationale:

This will prevent works external to Council and Council-engaged contractors from affecting Council reserves.

Current:

Engage in, play or practice golf, archery or any other game that may interfere with the use or the enjoyment of the reserve by any other person.

Proposed:

Engage in, play or practice any game that may interfere with the use or the enjoyment of the reserve by any other person.

Rationale:

This will ensure public safety is maintained and reduce high-risk activities.
