Heritage helps the community to understand the story of Stonnington - its history, identity and its people.

Our heritage is highly valued by residents and visitors alike and requires ongoing protection so that it can be enjoyed by future generations.

Council is preparing Amendment C132 to update the current heritage policy and strengthen protection of heritage places included in the Heritage Overlay of the Stonnington Planning Scheme.

The updated Heritage Policy, together with updated Heritage Design Guidelines, will provide a toolkit for applicants when preparing planning permit applications for heritage places.

Public submissions on Amendment C132 will be sought in February 2016 and updated Heritage Design Guidelines will be released at the same time.
