Engagement Stage One

1 December 2021

Community engagement is underway on our budget for 2022-23, with a new online budget simulation tool to better explain our budget planning process and more effectively involve our community on shaping our priorities.

Our annual budget makes day-to-day life in Stonnington possible, funding services like roads, open space, waste and recycling, animal management, maternal and child health, aged services and early education, among many other things.

This is a new style of budget engagement for the City of Stonnington so that we can make it easier for people to get an understanding of Council Services and Projects and to let us know how we should prioritise our budgets in the future. This is the first stage of budget consultation for 2022-23, with additional opportunities for people to provide input available in the first half of 2022.

The budget simulator is split into two sections:

  1. Services: where you can provide feedback on your funding priorities across the services we provide like traffic and parking, early education or our parks and gardens.
  2. Projects and capital investment: where you can provide feedback on projects within our long term Council plan like installing bicycle infrastructure, acquiring properties to create open space and creating accessible infrastructure for our local sporting clubs.

The information you provide will be reviewed alongside other feedback received, as well as information gathered through our recent engagement on our Community Vision and Council Plan and other engagement projects to help us effectively prioritise the services and projects that we provide to the community

The above links will take you to a custom built budget simulator that sits outside the City of Stonnington website but is governed by our information and privacy framework. You also have the ability to subscribe for email updates to be kept informed throughout the budget process.

To have your say, complete the budget simulators by Friday 4 February 2022.
