Aged Care Reforms

The Commonwealth Government are planning to implement aged care reforms to deliver a nationally consistent aged care system and has announced that a new aged care program is planned for commencement from 1 July 2024.

The aged services you currently receive from Council are delivered under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and funded by Commonwealth Government. The Commonwealth aged care reform will combine several aged care programs including CHSP, home care packages and short-term restorative care services into one new program.

Our aim is to assist you to be prepared for these changes, and to support this we are hosting small interactive workshops from late March to mid-April to give you updated information, and the opportunity to raise questions and discuss what’s important to you. The confirmed workshop dates are listed on the top right of this page and you can register for one of these workshops directly by clicking here.

Please contact Aged Services on 8290 3224 or email if you are interested in attending a workshop but your preferred option is not available.
