As part of the ‘Strategy for Creating Open Space’, Council purchased the property at 7 Hobson Street, South Yarra. This building will soon be demolished and a new pocket park built for the community.

The strategic development of new pocket parks is just one way in which Council is looking to create new open space to benefit the health and wellbeing of everyone who works, plays or lives in Stonnington.

Council has developed a draft concept design for the new space, which includes:

• Tiered garden beds with incorporated seating,
• An arbour shelter opening into a community space, and
• A grassed area for play and relaxation.
